Pigmented lesions such as age spots or freckles can be successfully lightened or removed with IPL treatment from Skin Bar. All of these treatments are non-invasive, suitable for both the face and body, and will result in a more even skin tone.
The results and the length of treatment required depend on the nature of the pigmentation but for example, a simple birth mark or over freckled nose could be removed in around 3-4 sessions of IPL treatment. On your initial consultation we will be able to advise on the treatment. If you agree to treatment you will be required to take a patch test before starting your treatment.
IPL Treatment
The AW3® treatment works by directing well-controlled pulses of light into the upper skin layer. The light is absorbed by two of the body’s own natural chemicals – melanin in the pigmented areas and haemoglobin in the red blood. Both these pigments convert the light energy into heat. This heat is used to destroy the parts of the cells in which the melanin is stored, and to damage the walls of the vessels supplying blood to the areas where vascular damage is seen. This technique has the name “Selective Photo thermolysis”.
The AW3® system produces visible light which is carefully controlled to produce the correct pulse length and right amount of energy to destroy the targets without damaging surrounding tissues.
Skin Rejuvenation using the AW3® system will treat diffuse redness and pigmented disorders caused by sun-damage and also improve the skin texture. AW3® Rejuvenation procedure will additionally treat larger (individually visible vessels) telangiectasias.
